NBA Top Picks 2/7: Suns Victorious in Chicago, Warriors Clobber Lowly Thunder

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've done a Top Picks article. It's been quite a while since I've made an article in general, but here I am, the same old EJsports. I have to trace back to January 15th, but I went 1-2 in that edition, bringing my season record to 10-7. Tonight I've got a few picks that should be nice wagers. Let's get started.

Suns' Devin Booker smiles after scoring.

Phoenix Suns -6.0 @ Chicago Bulls

The Phoenix Suns are running nicely right now, winning 4 of their last 5 games by an average margin of 10 points. The Bulls aren't too shabby right now, still 2nd in the East, but tonight will be up against a tough Suns team without PG Lonzo Ball and SG Alex Caruso, so they'll be lacking depth. The Suns have a great defense this year, ranking 6th in points against compared to Chicago's lackluster 18th ranked scoring defense. They'll make scoring on a shorthanded Bulls team tonight. Overall, they have a great team all-around, ranking in the top-10 in scoring, scoring defense, FG%, FT%, rebounding, assists, steals, and turnovers. Phoenix simply is the better team. Chicago is also playing the second leg of a back-to-back tonight, so expect them to be exhausted tonight. Back the Suns.

Phoenix's Chris Paul surveys the court.

Chris Paul Over 15.5 Points @ Chicago Bulls

Yep, I'm stacking the Suns tonight with this player prop. Chris Paul should contribute at least 16 points tonight, once again against a shorthanded and tired Chicago bulls team. They are allowing 120.3 PPG over their last three games. Chris Paul has scored over 15.5 points in 8 of his past 9 contests. His minutes should be quite consistent tonight, because even though the Suns should cover tonight, the Bulls are too good of a team to get blown out by 20. Take the over on this prop.

Warriors' Stephen Curry eyes a driving lane.

Golden State Warriors -12.0 @ Oklahoma City Thunder

The Warriors are red-hot winning all of their past 8 contests. This is a huge juxtaposition when compared to the Thunder, who have lost 8 of their past 11 games. The Thunder essentially live in a hospital now, with 6 players listed on the injury report at CBS Sports. Golden State's defense should have no problem handling the well shorthanded Thunder, who have a perfect matchup tonight (Warriors' 2nd best scoring defense against Thunder's 2nd worst scoring offense). I know the Thunder own the 2nd best ATS record in the NBA, but Golden State isn't much farther behind at 4th. The Oklahoma City team that covers so frequently is way different than the one we'll see tonight. Wager on the Warriors.
